Five string Kentucky style dulcimer with solid Western Red Cedar top and Blackwood back, sides, fretboard and scroll (Acacia Melanoxylon).

Length 940mm (37”)

Width Upper bout 150mm (5.9”)
Side height 47mm (1.85”)
Scale length 699mm (27.5”)
Sound holes Hearts
Fretboard Hollow, 32mm wide (1.25”)

The deep brown wood of this instrument has a striking linear figure that catches and reflects the light. The top has a dark stripe in the cedar that complements the darkness of the sides and back.

The sound is woody – mellow and full. It is quite a loud instrument, but still with good sustain, and with a dynamic range that allows it to be driven hard.
